4A SOUTH SUBSECTION FINALS
CHRIST HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH lions 67,
SOUTHWEST CHRISTIAN CHASKA stars 45

It was the Lions that were Kings in this contest. CHOF lost to #1 seed SWC earlier in the year 54-52 and got their revenge tonight. CHOF now moves on to the finals against Maranatha on Friday at Hamline. CHOF stands at 19-8. SWC ends their season at 21-8.

SWC had the first points, but after that most of the flow of the game went CHOF's way. SWC had problems on offense with a drought of 7 after scoring the first points of the game. CHOF led 8-2 then SWC had an 8-2 spurt to tie it at 10 on one free throw by Libby Bird. CHOF was deliberate on offense and took shots they wanted to take when the opportunity presented itself. Both teams suffered through a fallow period on offense. CHOF was 1/8 and SWC 0/8 for the last five minutes of the half. Both teams snapped out of it with scores from both teams on their last possessions of the half. CHOF led at half 27-17.

In the second half it was more of the same, but more efficient for CHOF. Their pp100 was 105,3 with a floor % of .500. CHOF had a 9/10 offensive string on a 16-5 run to make the score 45-24. Damara Scheeler started the sequence with a three. Sarah Palenschat had 6 points in the stretch. CHOF maintained that 20 point margin until the 5 minute mark when they went into their spread offense and took chip shots as the defense scramble trying to stop the penetration. SWC did start stringing their offense together later with a 5/6 sequence but CHOF was matching their scoring.

CHOF looked smoother on offense. They made the one little extra pass that found players in range wide open. In the spread offense CHOF was lethal. This is the second best offensive performance from a class A team that I have seen this year. It wasn't quite 100, but the tail end of the first half brought the numbers down.
