Purdue squeaked by Michigan State 64-61. Mpls North's Mia Johnson had 5 for MSU.

Ohio State eeked out an overtime 73-71 over Penn State.

BIG EAST
Marquette topped Pittsburgh 61-51 in the quarterfinals. Chicago Regina Dominican's Christina Quaye had 18 to lead Marquette.

MID AMERICAN
Northern Illinois zipped by Akron 69-56. Holy Angels' Kristin Wiener had 18 for NIU. Jordan's Mandy Holzer did not score for Akron.

Ohio beat Central Michigan 55-51. Lansing Sexton Sharonda Hurd had 18 for CMU.

Western Michigan beat Miami OH 74-58. Detroit Country Day's Carrie Moore had 34 for WMU.

PATRIOT
American brushed up Colgate 68-45 in the semifinals of the Patriot tournament. DeLaSalle's Talicia Jackson had 8 for American.

SOUTHLAND
Lamar edged Southeast Louisiana 59-58. Mpls Edison's Whitnee Miller had 4 for SE LA.

NORTH CENTRAL
It was the North over South in the battle of the Dakotas 72-49 to decide the North Central championship. BGMR's Kierah Kimbrough had 20 for UND. Vermillion's Ashley Bjorkman had 15 for USD.

North Dakota will host the North Central Regional next weekend March 9, 10, 11.

NORTHERN SUN
Concordia St. Paul defeated MSU Moorhead 85-77. St. Croix Lutheran's Amanda Behnke and Manitowoc Lutheran's Katie LaViollette each had 21 for CSP. GVDH's Allison Swenson and Huthinson's Meghan Rettke had 15 for MSU Moorhead.

JUCO
Nortland upended Itasca 64-52 to move on to nationals.

Anoka-Ramsey beat WTTC 62-36 also to advance.
