AAAA POINT GUARDS
Here is a look at the point guards in AAAA with the games I saw them in.
I will list the point guard, school, pp100, floor %

1. Angel Robinson, St. Paul Central 103,9, .481

2. Ephesia Holmes, Mpls South 97.8, .500

3. Kelsey Jacobson, Moorhead 97.1, .400

4. Kaiya Sygulla, Lakeville North 79.4, .485

5. Natalie Pastor, Edina 63.6, .333

6. Brianna Olson, Osseo 58.3, .333

7. Michelle Burns, Champlin Park 44.7, .234

8. Deborah Barany, Roseville 33.3, .167

Again these are for all games I saw this year.
I had to pick from the point guards at South. Holmes seemed to be the logical choice. Hill and Smith can also fill that role.
If I eliminate the first game of the year Robinson's numbers pop to 123.9 and .587. She has had 3 games over 110 pp100, the only one to accomplish that feat.

The top 3 have had 100+ games. The rest haven't.

Jacobson's floor % is lower because of the 3 ball.

Now this isn't all about scoring. The possessions for the higher performing players didn't end up as turnovers or missed shots.

These players had their best game in the last game I saw: Robinson (vs Cretin-DH); Holmes (vs Eastview); Burns (vs Coon Rapids).

Point guards are responsible for so many things and are keys to the offense. If they play with confidence and authority the team takes on that aura. I am sure the numbers will go higher yet, especially for the teams that win.

I wanted to do more looks at the different positions, but...this cold has knocked me out. Every year at the end of the season I get walloped by a nasty bout of illness. It came a week earlier this year. Tomorrow I will be at the Target Center with a huge box of Kleenex.

up next: tomorrow morning.
