MN Tournament Tips Off

Here is the MSHSL web page for all tournament information.

Channel 45 is covering the tournament on TV. If you can't get to the tournament or get the tv coverage, you can watch on the internet. But unlike the free service in Iowa and SD you will need to pay. Here is the B2 site and they don't do quarterfinals. One session is $10, the package is $50.

STATE TOURNAMENT PREVIEWS

#7 Osseo hopes their defense tops #2 South in the quarters today. From the West edition of the StarTribune.
#6 Lakeville North has their defense to thank on their state trip. From the South edition of the the StarTribune.
#8 Roseville will have their hands full with St. Paul Central. But Roseville is back when others did not expect them there. From the North edition of the StarTribune.
How good is #1 St. Paul Central? The StarTribune asks this question with the recruiting angle scrutinized. Even I get quoted in the Best Ever? article in the Pioneer Press. By the way the Osseo has the record for most points in the AAAA final with 80 against Eastview in 2000, and the largest margin of 27 also in 2000.

SEEDS
Last week in SD, a state that seeds, not one #1 team won the tournament. Only one (Bs Castlewood) advanced to the final game. In AA Sioux Falls Roosevelt was stunned by #8 Brandon Valley.
In Iowa two #1 teams went on to win the tournament: Sioux City North in 4A, and North Butler in 2A. Decorah was beat in the 3A semis, IKM in the 1A finals.
Who will be the first top seed to fall in MN?
