Wisconsin is hoping for a bid for the WNIT. The Badgers' Jolene Anderson (South Shore, WI) was honored by the State Assembly.

BIG SKY FIRST ROUND
Portland State beat Northern Colorado 82-69. Courtney Stoermer (Iowa City West) had 11 for UNC.

MISSOURI VALLEY FIRST ROUND
Northern Iowa beat Wichita State 75-45. Jacqui Kalin (Sioux City North) had 19 for UNI. Daria Frazier (Mpls North) had 12 for Wichita State.

Southern Illinois beat Bradley 65-54. Cortney Sales (Detroit Murray-Wright) had 3 for SIU. Jenny Van Kirk (Waconia) had 2 for SIU.

North Dakota is #6 in the country going into the tournament.

ALL REGION
North Dakota's Ashley Langen (Kittson Central) was named player of the year in the North Central Region.

UW Parkside's Kayla Ming (Grayslake, IL) made the 2nd team on the Great Lakes Region.

ALL CONFERENCE
The North Central has released their academic honor roll. North Dakota placed six on the list.

The NCC also released their all conference team. Ashley Langen again was named MVP, but she shared the title with Jeana Hoffman of South Dakota.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Kirkwood (28-6) held Southeast, NB (17-11) to 10 points over the firstfourteen minutes of the second half and rolled to a 85-50 victory and claimedthe District E title in Council Bluffs, Iowa at Iowa Western CC.

Kirkwood led 40-27 at halftime

With the win the Eagles advance to next weeks NJCAA Division II nationaltourney in Peoria, IL.

Kirkwood has qualified for seven straight NJCAA Division II tournaments,winning titles in 1997, 2002 and 2007.
