Jordan started the second half on a 13-2 run to hold a 46-31 lead. Roosevelt cut the margin to 61-54 with 5:06 left, but Kiara Strickland fouled out. Jordan finished up with a 16-5 run. Brittany Chambers had 33 for Jordan including #2000.
Jordan, for a team that scored 76 points, got a slow start. The Jaguars were 1/11 with only two ending up as turnovers. Roosevelt struck gold from behind the arc. Starting off the scoring for the Teddies was AunDreah Aune with a three. She also closed with a three for a 16-7 lead and that prompted a Jordan time out. The very next possession Jordan got the ball inside to Leah Dietel who converted a three point play. It also started Kiara Strickland on a foul path that forced her to the bench. That started a 13-1 run by Jordan. For the rest of the game Jordan held the lead. Roosevelt cut the margin to 23-21, but Michelle O'Malley hit for two consecutive 3s and Jordan had a 29-21 cushion. Jordan led at half 33-29. Chambers had 13 by half.
The 13-2 run to start the second half but Jordan firmly in command at 46-31. Chambers added 7 during the stretch. Roosevelt took a time out to regroup. The offenses were operating in high gear with 9 combined scores on 11 possessions. Roosevelt was 5/6 during the stretch and cut the margin to 61-54 after a Suriya McGuire drive. Roosevelt made up the ground behind the arc. Tyesha Wright knocked down two triples and Kiara Strickland also delivered one. But at the 5:06 mark Strickland was saddled with foul #5 on a Leah Dietel &1 opportunity. She missed the free throw, but Kelli Buesgens got the rebound for Jordan. Emily Clark made a put back on the same possesson so the 7 point margin quickly ballooned to 11. Dietel added four more points in the run as they expanded their lead to 72-54. The Roosevelt distance attack was thwarted by Jordan and the Jaguars were headed to state for the second straight year.
